Assistant Controller, Construction Accounting

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for construction and real estate development? Join Martin Commercial Properties, as a Construction Accounting Assistant Controller. Based in East Lansing, you’ll be a key player in overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong cash flow.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the accounting cycle for construction projects.
• Collaborate closely with the project management team.
• Prepare monthly pay applications, track costs, and ensure timely invoicing.
• Maintain organized project files and ensure all compliance documents are in order.

 What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or real estate development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel) and the ability to learn our industry software (Yardi and Procore).
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
