Job Summary

Company is looking for a self-motivated Accountant to join our accounting and finance department. This position will play an important role in our company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law. Must have a wide range of accounting knowledge and be able to handle elevated accounting functions across all company business lines, including Property Management, Brokerage, and Property Development.


Key Responsibilities/Job Functions

  • Prepares all Job Cost accounting for Martin Property Development, including monthly financial statement preparation.
  • Generates monthly labor billings and hours reconciliations.
  • Complete charge uploads for Labor, Mgmt and Billbacks, scan checks and maintain client accounts receivable ledgers.
  • Reconciles Intercompany accounts monthly.
  • Prepares journal entries to record transactions to the general ledger for Corporate entities.
  • Assists with various month-end procedures for Corporate entities.
  • Prepare weekly Company Brokerage Invoicing.
  • Assists in Company Deal Processing for Brokerage commissions.
  • Assists with year-end information preparation for various Corporate and RE Portfolio tax returns.
  • Research open accounting issues.
  • Serves as a Yardi SPOC/administrator and manages software issues encountered and support ticket requests.
  • Assists with one-off Report requests from Property Management Department or PM Clients.
  • Performs final review of monthly financial packages for Property Management clients.
  • Handles all lease accounting, monthly and year-end for clients who are FASB compliant.
  • Oversees the Budgeting process for property Management department.
  • Performs final review of CAM reconciliations and billings for tenants.
  • Manage the DLDT tracking for Property Management department.
  • Attends regular training sessions as needed to keep up to date on new accounting implementations and changes, and software options/updates.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. (Required)
  • Minimum of three to five years of related experience and/or training. (Required)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles, financial terms, basic financial analysis.
  • Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.


Physical Requirements

  • Those activities associated with general office work including but not limited to sitting, walking, standing, talking, or hearing, for long periods of time. Using hands to write, key, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Other activities include reaching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
